It starts with a drive out of town, windows down, music playing, dunes in the distance.
When we get there, it’s just you, a board, and a hill of golden sand waiting to be ridden. Some people go fast, some fall flat on their face — everyone laughs. There’s no pressure, no rush. Just pure fun.
As the sun starts to set, we gather around. Fire, Moroccan tea, snacks, music. The sky turns orange, and suddenly you feel like you’re in a movie.
It’s not about being good at it — it’s about letting go, trying something new, and sharing a moment with people who were strangers an hour ago.
It’s one of those things you remember.
We usually leave in the afternoon — once the heat starts to settle and the light gets golden.
The ride to the dunes takes about an hour, with good music, good views, and maybe a few snack stops along the way.
When we arrive, it’s just endless hills of soft sand and the whole place to ourselves.
We grab the boards and start sliding. No experience needed. You’ll fall, laugh, try again, and eventually nail it. Everyone finds their own way.
As the sun starts to dip, we slow things down. We set up a little spot with Moroccan tea, some snacks, music playing, and a small fire. It’s that moment when the sky turns orange and everything feels still.
Then we head back — tired, sandy, smiling.
